Veteran Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has expressed concern over the alarming increase in untimely deaths, particularly among young people in their twenties, thirties, and forties.

In a recent Instagram post, Edochie attributed the trend to the abandonment of indigenous traditions in favor of foreign practices. He described the growing number of premature deaths as abnormal and suggested that reconnecting with traditional spiritual practices could help address the issue.

“Too many premature deaths these days. Young people dying in their twenties, thirties, forties. It is not normal. It is happening because we have abandoned our traditional ways and embraced the ways of oyinbo people,” Edochie wrote.

He further explained that the spirits once revered for their protective powers have been angered by neglect, leading to an imbalance. Edochie emphasized the need to return to these ancient traditions, which he described as “pure and powerful,” to restore harmony and safeguard lives.
