Popular Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has fled Nigeria following what he claims was an attempt on his life.

Fabiyi’s absence at the Coroner’s court investigating the death of late singer Mohbad, as well as his failure to lead a planned protest at the Lagos State Assembly on September 30, 2024, raised questions. The actor had previously announced a protest for that date, coinciding with the resumption of the coroner’s investigation into Mohbad’s passing.

Explaining his absence, Fabiyi revealed that he had narrowly escaped an assassination attempt two days prior and that his life remains in danger.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, Fabiyi, now in hiding, alleged a plot to end his life due to his involvement in Mohbad’s case.

“I escaped assassination two days ago, and they still planned to kill me tonight. If they had succeeded, I would have been buried tomorrow,” he said. “They will now waste me all because I’m fighting for justice. I didn’t collect money from anybody. I am just doing my own for God. I have to run for my life. I just left Nigeria unplanned and as it is now, I don’t even know my destination,” he added.
