Wizkid reveals women as muse behind his music

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun, better known as Wizkid, has shared a glimpse into the inspiration behind his music. The afrobeats star disclosed that women play a central role in fueling his creativity.

“Women inspire music! Gods on earth,” Wizkid wrote in a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter).

Known for his romantic tracks celebrating women, Wizkid’s artistry reflects his admiration for their influence. His latest album, *Morayo*, is a tribute to his late mother, Morayo Jane Balogun, and has been making waves on global streaming platforms.

The album has set new milestones on Spotify, breaking Tyla’s previous record for the most first-week streams for an African album, amassing 48 million streams in just six days. *Morayo* also achieved a record-breaking 52.8 million streams in its opening week, solidifying Wizkid’s dominance in the afrobeats genre.

Through his music, Wizkid continues to pay homage to the women who inspire him while elevating African music on the global stage.
