Nigerian comedienne Anita Afoke Asuoha, widely known as Warri Pikin, has opened up about how a piece of advice from a motivational speaker nearly drove her to suicide.

In an emotional post shared on her Instagram page, Warri Pikin recounted how her husband found himself drowning in a N22 million debt in 2018 after following the motivational speaker’s suggestion to explore various business ventures in the pursuit of financial success.

She revealed the overwhelming impact of that decision on her mental health, writing: “I tried suicide so you don’t have to. On June 6, 2018, at 3pm to be precise, I attempted suicide. I gave up on life because the burden was too much.”

Describing how life became unbearable, she continued, “Life just dey hit me left, right, and center, life dey turn me round like barber chair. And I felt like the only way to escape was to end the pain.”

Warri Pikin used her story to encourage others facing hardships to resist the urge to consider suicide, emphasizing that tough times are temporary. “Suicide is making a permanent decision to a temporary problem,” she wrote, urging those struggling to seek help and hold on through life’s challenges.
