The sudden outburst of the leadership of Offa Youth Council led by Alhaji Musbau Olaniyi (Printbest) does not represent the interest of Offa youth. It is glaring that this is a politically-driven attempt to use the long dormant organization to score cheap political points for PDP. It is also a move to hide under the union to disregard our elders and traditional leaders in Offa.
The youths in Offa are law abiding people who give utmost importance and respect to the culture and heritage of the Yoruba land. We won’t, on any account call our elders and traditional rulers names or hurl any sort of derogatory words to qualify our father-figures because we’re well-raised with the value of our sacred culture of respecting the elders. When the need arises to engage or confront them, we must do it with politeness and diplomacy.
The constant attack on ODU has proven to be illogical and baseless as it’s being perpetrated by some mischievous and ignorant youths who are being sponsored by some selfish and corrupt political figures, hiding under the name of elite and traditional title holders in Offa. It’s better for them to know that their devilish and unpatriotic game is dead on arrival as ODU leadership is a sacred one and represents our community, which is bigger than any parochial interest.
Some elements of PDP passing vote of no confidence in the leadership of ODU is not only hilarious but lack substantial fact and can be regarded as barbaric. Their failed previous attempts to taint the image of the leadership of ODU led by Alhaji Azeez Muideen Salako and frustrate them to resign so that their sponsors can hijack the organization for their political desperation proved abortive, as some patriotic and open-minded youth have deemed it fit to expose their lies and defend the ODU as non partisan or religiously biased in all their actions with various publications.
As a result of their fruitless effort, the same set of people going forward to incite Offa youths against the ODU by raising an allegation on ODU president, for sanctioning some youth for disrupting and violating the rules engagement on ODU WhatsApp platform which include Alhaji Musbau Olaniyi, the president of the inactive Offa Youths Council. ODU WhatsApp platform like other platforms has its age-long rules and regulations guiding its existence, while the PRO was only discharging his duty.
This removal was done a month ago and no reaction from the leadership of OYC until after election neither was a letter of dissatisfaction sent to the leadership of ODU nor any petition against the PRO to the top executive of ODU. If they did, they should kindly avail the public with the evidence. As a well exposed and standard organization they referred themselves, no proper protocol was observed as regards this. Instead they see media bullying and protest as the first approach, that indicates a big red flag.
The leadership of ODU has not in anywhere or through any platform declared support for any political candidate in Offa, as it has been orchestrated by the present leadership Of Offa Youths’ Council through the Twitter handle of their national president, Aare Musbau Olaniyi (Printbest). As a youth constituency representative why publicly endorsing PDP chairmanship candidate, who happens to be the General secretary of OYC. Is Accord party chairmanship candidate not a youth? This shows that they lack the integrity they’re preaching. This is hypocrisy at its peak.
We urge all well to do and meaningful youth and elders of Offa to disregard any of their further publications as it’s far from the public interest but for their callous, greedy and selfish gain.
