The Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) has officially lifted its suspension on actress Nkechi Blessing, following her heartfelt public apology three years after their initial fallout.
The conflict began in 2021 when Blessing clashed on social media with fellow actor Kehinde Adams, known as Lege Miami, amid the arrest of actor Baba Ijesha on charges of assaulting a minor. Blessing’s criticism of TAMPAN’s handling of the situation eventually led to her suspension.
Recently, Blessing took the opportunity to apologize to TAMPAN during the Nigerian Canadian Celebrities Entertainment Awards in Toronto. In an emotional, now-viral video, the actress knelt before TAMPAN President Bolaji Amusan (Mr. Latin), expressing remorse and gratitude for the association’s role in her career.
“I am deeply sorry for all I did. I beg you from the bottom of my heart to please forgive me. I appreciate the industry. You all made me who I am today,” she said tearfully.
Amusan and actor Odunlade Adekola embraced Blessing on stage, with Adekola commending her for owning her actions. In a warm post on Instagram, Amusan welcomed her back, praising her “courage” and saying, “I commend and admire your courage… welcome on board!!!”
