Alhaji Sherif Shagaya, Chairman of the Salman Shagaya Foundation, has donated N20 million to the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) during its 59th Annual National Conference held at the Emir’s Palace, Ilorin.
The donation, announced at the prestigious gathering, was complemented by an additional ₦5 million pledge by Honourable Muktar Tolani Shagaya, the member representing Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives.
The event, which serves as a reunion for the sons and daughters of the Ilorin Emirate, was graced by the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq CON, alongside other dignitaries.
Speaking at the conference, Shagaya stated that the gesture was aimed at supporting IEDPU’s developmental initiatives and reinforcing the Governor’s efforts to uplift Kwarans. “This is in recognition of the Governor’s commitment to giving Kwarans a platform to shine,” Shagaya remarked.
In his address delivered by the Baloguns, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, commended the Shagaya family for their consistent philanthropic contributions, praying for continued blessings and prosperity for them.
The conference underscored the unity and progressive strides of the Ilorin Emirate community, with calls for sustained collaboration and development-focused initiatives.
