Indigenous rapper Phyno has dismissed comparisons between himself and fellow rapper Olamide, stating that they share a brotherly bond and should not be pitted against one another.

The debate sparked on October 4, 2024, when a social media user posted side-by-side images of Phyno and Olamide, asking the public to weigh in on which artist was the “GOAT” of Nigerian rap. The post quickly attracted various opinions, with some users claiming both rappers were phenomenal in their own ways, while others supported one over the other.

However, Phyno, displeased with the post, swiftly responded. He wrote, “Yo!!! Tf is wrong with u guys for God’s sake… stop putting me up against my brother or anybody else for that matter. Do your banter with someone else.”

The 37-year-old Penthauze Muzik CEO is currently celebrating the success of his fifth studio album, Full Time Job, which features Johnny Drille, Fave, Burna Boy, Flavour, and Cheque. The album has topped Apple Music Nigeria’s Top Albums Chart, with singles like “Time of My Life” and the hit “Do I” gaining widespread attention.
