Honourable Ezekiel Olagoke, Supervising Councillor for Health, attended a free medical outreach initiative organised by the Kwara State Government.

The program, which was held at the General Hospital in Offa, provided critical healthcare services to hundreds of residents in the Offa Local Government Area.

Led by Dr. Arigidi Stephen Onotu, a team of skilled doctors and healthcare professionals offered treatments for ailments such as cataracts, pterygium, lipoma, hydrocele, and hernia. Beneficiaries also received free medical consultations, medications, and eyeglasses, addressing immediate health needs and preventive care.

Olagoke commended Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq for prioritising healthcare and addressing the needs of underserved residents.

“This outreach reflects Governor AbdulRazaq’s commitment to rescuing vulnerable citizens from health challenges, bringing joy to medically disadvantaged and financially constrained residents of Offa,”.

He also praised Offa Local Government Chairman Hon. Sulyman Olatunji Omituntun for his dedication to community welfare, noting how his leadership prioritises the well-being of the people of Offa.

“His leadership places the well-being of Offa’s people at the heart of his administration, which is reflected in his many inclusive policies.”

Olagoke called for further health interventions in Offa and thanked the Governor and Chairman for their efforts.
Beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude for the initiative. Mrs. Aishat Ibrahim, a local trader, shared,

“I got treatment for my eye condition and free glasses. This program has saved me so much.”

Mr. Taiwo Adebayo, a retired civil servant, added,
“The free medical outreach not only saved me a substantial amount of money, but also eased the financial burden on me and my children.”

The Offa outreach is part of the Kwara State Government’s Health Intervention Program, launched to bridge healthcare gaps in rural and underserved areas. The program focuses on providing specialised treatments, early detection, and free medical services through regular outreaches and mobile clinics. Since its inception, it has reached thousands across Kwara, prioritising conditions that disproportionately affect local communities.
