Odumodublvck has quickly ascended to superstar status, cementing his place as one of Africa’s top rappers since breaking into Nigeria’s music industry.
In a recent interview, multi-award-winning rapper MI Abaga was asked who he believes is currently the hottest rapper in Nigeria, and without hesitation, he gave the title to Odumodublvck.
“The rapper that is probably top of the game, and the thing I love about him is that he has been such a uniting force, bringing the old school and new school together and promoting rappers from his home city,” MI Abaga remarked about the rising star. “He is unique, different, stands out, and I have a lot of respect and love for him,” he added.
Odumodublvck, who has frequently praised MI as one of Nigeria’s greatest artists, took to social media to celebrate the recognition.
Odumodublvck burst onto the mainstream scene with his hit single Picanto featuring Zlatan, and has since become one of Nigeria’s most consistent hitmakers. In 2022, he won the prestigious Headies award for Best Rap Song with Declan Rice and also took home the Rookie of The Year prize, affirming his breakout star status.
His 2023 album Eziokwu recently set a new benchmark, spending over 50 weeks on Spotify Nigeria’s Top 10, a record for a rap project. Additionally, his recent nomination for the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards further solidifies his position as one of Africa’s leading rappers.
