NYG24: Wonderkid Hassan Olojoku leads Team Kwara to 4 gold, 1 bronze in Scrabble

Team Kwara delivered an impressive 4 gold and 1 bronze medals in Scrabble at the ongoing National Youth Games (NYG24) in Asaba, Delta State.

The latest gold came from Olosun Khalid and Olojoku Hassan Olamide in the doubles event.

Coach AbdulRafiu Olojoku expressed satisfaction with their performance, noting the improvement from last year when they won 3 golds and 1 Silver.

Olojoku, who is both the parent and coach of some athletes, also expressed gratitude to Coach Ajimati, from whom he learned, and praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his unwavering support.

The governor had recently sponsored two Scrabble players from Kwara to Sri Lanka for international competition with the help of Mallam Bola Magaji, executive chairman of the state’s sports commission.

Olamide Olojoku, a student of GDSS Adewole who won 3 gold medals for Kwara, appreciated his coach’s efforts and urged his colleagues to stay focused and committed to the coach’s instructions.

By Tuesday afternoon, Kwara had secured 11 gold, 6 silver, and 6 bronze medals.
