Nigerian singer and music executive Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, widely known as Mr. Eazi, has strongly denied rumors circulating online that Afrobeats sensation Tekno collapsed during a performance in South Africa.
Addressing the speculation through his social media platform X on Tuesday evening, Mr. Eazi humorously responded, “Lmao Tekno wey dey Malabo,” confirming that Tekno is actually in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, rather than in South Africa as the rumors suggest.
The rumors began after a video surfaced on social media, purportedly showing the ‘Pana’ hitmaker being assisted by security personnel after allegedly collapsing on stage in South Africa. The video quickly gained attraction, sparking widespread concern.
However, Mr. Eazi swiftly debunked the claims, emphasizing that Tekno is safe and sound in Malabo. It’s worth noting that Tekno and Mr. Eazi recently entered into a strategic partnership, merging Tekno’s Cartel Music label with Mr. Eazi’s music company, emPawa Africa, in a joint venture that sees Tekno as both an investor and a partner.
