Nigerian singer Mr. May D has sparked controversy on X (formerly Twitter) after suggesting that his fallout with his former record label, Square Records, played a pivotal role in shaping Wizkid’s rise to success.

In a heated exchange with Wizkid’s fans, May D tweeted: “If no be wetin happen between me and Psquare, who be Wiz [Wizkid]? Chai,” implying that circumstances surrounding his split from the label indirectly contributed to Wizkid’s prominence.

The altercation was triggered after May D shared a post praising fellow artist Davido. He alleged that this prompted attacks from Wizkid’s fanbase. “Because I spoke about David, Wizkid boys are attacking me. Lmao even Wiz knows I love him, but if y’all come for me, I’ll finish all of you and your oga,”he retorted.

Known for his outspoken nature, May D did not hold back, declaring: “Even your Wizkid knows his limits! Don’t f*ck with me.”

May D’s statements have reignited discussions about his career trajectory and his fallout with Square Records, which was founded by the famous duo Psquare. While some fans dismissed his claims as attention-seeking, others speculated on the potential impact of his former affiliations on the industry.

The singer, best known for his early hits like *”Soundtrack”* and *”Ile Ijo,”* continues to draw mixed reactions with his candid takes on the Nigerian music scene.
