It was a massive turnout on Saturday, November 16, 2024, as fitness enthusiasts converged on the main bowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex for Ilorin Fitness Festival 4.0.
Driven by their zeal to live a healthy lifestyle and enhance their wellbeing, the participants were filled with excitement following the series of sessions undertaken by certified fitness instructors on the at the event.
From aerobics to tabata session, football to athletics event, the Ilorin Fitness Festival drew over 2000 participants across the country- an all time record high for the event since its debut four years ago.
Speaking to journalists after the event, the convener of Fitness program, Akorede Kehinde Monsuru, who is also the CEO of Exercise is Medicine, expressed his delight over the success of the fitness festival.
“We are very delighted over the massive turnouts and the success of this year’s edition. Having exhausted all the tags that we produced, our records show that we had over 2000 participants that attended the programme” he said.

thanked all those who contributed to the success of the programme, even as he added that next edition will be stronger and better.
Earlier in his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Kwara State Sports Commission, Coach Bola Mogaji, commended the organisers of the event and urged the public to imbibe the message of the programme by engaging in fitness exercise.
Corroborating Mogaji’s remark, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Natiwonwide League One (NLO) Shola Ogunnowo described the convener of the fitness festival as a trail blazer and hailed his ingenuity.
While emphasising the potential of the ftiness event in enhancing people’s wellbeing, he called on the government and corporate organisations to support the project in order to expand its scope and capture more people across the spectrum of the society.
Barrister Abdulkareem Alabi, who represented the Saliu Mustapha Foundation at the event, noted that the programme lived up to its billing.
Highlighting its impacts on the wellness of the people and socio-economic development of the society, Alabi stressed that the Ilorin Fitness Festival will continue to receive support from the foundation.
The event also witnessed presentation of awards of excellence to distinguished personalities, while winners in athletics and football events were also decorated with commemorative medals.
