The Lagos state Government has confirmed the extension of its work-from-home directive for workers in the state. The new directive is expected to be in practice for the next three months to mitigate the effect of increase in the price of petrol.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos state governor, made the approval via a circular signed by Bode Agoro, the state Head of Service, on Wednesday.
The state Government had earlier directed the workers operate remotely on February 28 on selected days.
The directive stated that workers on grade levels 01 to 14 were to work from home for two days in a week, while workers on grade levels 15 to 17 were to work from home for one day a week.
Governor Sanwo-olu, however, revealed in the new directive that the earlier policy made positive impact on workers’ productivity in their various workplaces of the state government.
The policy is aimed at cushioning the effects of the removal of subsidies on the masses.
The directive is expected to be in practice immediately.
