Nigerian music star Daniel Anidugbe, popularly known as Kizz Daniel, has stirred conversations after declaring that no one, apart from fellow artist Runtown, has ever written a song for him. The singer made the statement on his X handle while praising Runtown for his contribution.
“For the first time in my life, Person write song for me and na Runtown… Sound God is not human,” Kizz Daniel wrote.
The statement drew skepticism from an X user, @KTwinBlog, who questioned the claim: “For the first….you sure?” Kizz Daniel responded firmly: “Make any mofo come out say dem write for me I go stop music right now.”
While songwriting for artists is a common practice globally, it remains somewhat controversial in Nigeria, where fans often equate self-written tracks with greater artistic talent. This belief has led to criticism of artists like Davido, who has openly acknowledged using songwriters.
Adding to the buzz, Kizz Daniel revealed that his upcoming EP, *Uncle K*, set to release on November 29, 2024, will be his last new project until 2026. “After this, I no dey drop anything again until 2026,” he tweeted, shocking fans who flooded social media with pleas for him to reconsider.
The announcement follows a decade of consistent hits, starting with his breakout single *Woju* in 2014 and continuing through five successful albums. However, the decision to step back may also be influenced by personal loss. The singer recently shared that his wife had lost her mother to breast cancer, writing, “My wife lost her mom to breast cancer, and I’m here mourning with her… Say a prayer for her mom, Vaddicts.”
As fans await the release of Uncle K, Kizz Daniel’s heartfelt tribute to Runtown and his reflections on his journey in music mark a poignant moment in his illustrious career.
