Renowned Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw recently voiced her frustration on social media after receiving an outrageous request from a fan. Taking to X on September 13, 2024, Henshaw revealed that a fan had audaciously asked her for ₦35 million via direct message.
Expressing her disbelief, she wrote, “There must be a thought process that goes through people’s minds that I can’t fathom. How do you send a DM to someone and ask for ₦35 million? How? Why? If you can’t afford what you want, why not wait till you can or defer till you have saved enough? Stop it! Just stop!!”
Henshaw’s followers were equally stunned by the fan’s bold request. One user commented, “₦35 million, like thirty-five and six zeros? In a DM? God of rich aunties, have mercy!”
Another advised the actress, saying, “Aunty Katie Abeg run from such requests oh. I’ve learned that some people invest in stocks and live in begging syndrome until their returns come. Sadly, when the returns come, they won’t list you as beneficiaries.”
Another fan shared a similar experience, recalling how someone once billed them ₦2.5 million.
The exchange quickly gained attraction, sparking a conversation about the entitlement often seen in celebrity DMs. Many sympathized with Henshaw, with some expressing disbelief over the increasing boldness of financial requests directed at public figures.
Henshaw’s response has since resonated with her followers, with many echoing her call to “just stop” such audacious demands.
