Kwara State, a new online news platform, Inside Kwara, has been officially launched to deliver reliable and accurate news coverage to the region. The launch event, held at Crystal House, Challenge Roundabout, GRA, this evening, was marked by a presentation from the platform’s publisher, Yusuf Mutiu Olaitan.
Addressing a gathering of media professionals, local dignitaries, and Kwara residents, Yusuf Mutiu Olaitan expressed his deep commitment to upholding the highest standards of journalism. He emphasized that Inside Kwara is not established to hunt individuals, but dedicated to passionately represent and inform the community about issues that matter most to them.
“Inside Kwara aims to provide comprehensive news coverage across Kwara State, from major urban centers like Ilorin to areas such as Offa, Edu, Oro Patigi and Lafiagi. The platform will be driven by a commitment to unbiased reporting and responsible journalism, with a focus on both local stories and broader state-wide issues,” Yusuf stated.
The team behind Inside Kwara includes several distinguished journalists:
Muhammad Shaeed, the newly appointed Editor-in-Chief, brings extensive experience from his tenure with reputable media outlets including The Informant247 and The Ravens NG. Known for his creativity and professionalism, Saheed is expected to lead the editorial team with a strong vision for impactful storytelling.
Ruqoyyah Abidemi, the Lead Reporter, has an impressive background with over five media organizations both within Kwara and nationwide. A University of Ilorin graduate, Abidemi’s expertise as a newscaster and writer will be integral to the platform’s reporting efforts.
Mustapha Habeeb will cover sports and entertainment. Trained as a sports administrator at the University of Ilorin, Habeeb brings valuable experience in sports reporting to “Inside Kwara”.
Yusuf Mutiu Olaitan also highlighted that the platform’s mission includes not only delivering news, but also using journalism to hold power accountable and amplify marginalized voices. Inside Kwara aspires to build a well-informed community and foster civic engagement through its content.
The presentation concluded with an invitation to the public to explore Inside Kwara’s offerings and engage in the conversation about issues that matter in Kwara State.
