IEYDA Empowers The Needy With Cash and Food Items Worth N3.5m

The Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) has distributed food items and cash worth three point five million naira for less privileges across the five local government representing Ilorin Emirate as part of this year Lailatul Qadir, Special Prayer and Empowerment Programme.

The programme was an instance of sons and daughters of Ilorin emirate under the auspices of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, Alh. (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, held at IEYDA National Secretariat, Aishat Adepate House, Edun street, Ilorin, the kwara state capital.

The topic titled “Love and Empathy: Essential Ingredient for Community Growth” delivered by Ilorin-born Islamic preacher, Sheikh Muhammed Nasirudeen Abubakar Salaty tasked the Ilorin Emirate Youth not to derail from what people known them for and continue to promote culture and heritage of emirate.

The Emir of Ilorin, Alh Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari spoke through the Balogun Alanamu of Ilorin, Dr Utman Atolagbe Abubakar-jos prayed Allah to make Ilorin Emirate Youth as future of Emirate and world as whole.

In his submission, the National President, Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU, Alh Uthman Baba-Otta commended the Association for the programme and charged them to sustain the tempo.

In his remarks, the National President of the IEYDA, Alh Babatunde Salaudeen said the programme is annual event organized by the Association to alleviate the suffering of the less privileged in the society.

Alh Babatunde Salaudeen appreciated the those contributed to the success of the programme, particularly a great philanthropist that sponsored the programme for years and implored them not to relent their efforts towards the development of the society, praying Allah to continue to enrich them.

Also speaking, the National Publicity Secretary of the Association, Alhaji Uthman Jagunma appealed to state government, philanthropists and individuals to partner with the Association’s in alleviating the sufferings of the needy in society, adding that the Association is the close to the grassroots.

According to him, the Association had impacted positively in the lives of thousands of people within and outside Ilorin Emirate.

The National Publicity Secretary also commended philanthropists in the society for impacting positively in the lives of people through their foundations or family and charged them to sustain the tempo to eradicate poverty in our society.

Earlier, the Ajanasi Agba of Ilorin, Sheikh Mujitaba Yusuf Bature prayed for sons and daughters of Ilorin Emirate, prayed for members of the Association to be in higher position for the betterment of the country

Speaking on behalf beneficiaries from Ilorin-West. Mrs Kehinde Salman applauded the Association for the gesture and prayed Allah to continue to protect the Association.

Highlights of the programme is presentation of food item to petty traders to boost their trade, cash for businessmen and women to augment their businesses and also for people to offset their debt.

No fewer than one hundred people benefited from cash with range of one hundred thousand naira, fifty thousand naira, forty thousand naira and twenty thousand naira respectively.

The programme was attended by eminent personalities include the Balogun Alanamu of Ilorin, Doctor Uthman Atolagbe Abubakar-Jos, Ajanasi Agba of Ilorin, Sheikh Mujitaba Yusuf Bature, the National President of IEDPU, Alh Uthman Baba-Otta, the Chairman Alangua/Magajis Forum, Alhaji Zulukanaini AbdulRahman, the Personal Assistant to the Emir of Ilorin, Alh AbdulRaheem Muritala, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tertiary Institution, Alhaja Habeebat Saidu, the Chairman Alangua/Magaji Forum in Moro local government, Alh Usman Baba,
Dr H N Adam and Alh Bayo Adam Olufadi.
