Pep Guardiola’s side fought hard to achieve a 3-2 victory over Fulham at the Etihad, Mateo Kovacic’s brace and Jeremy Doku’s late goal led them to victory.
Andreas Pereira’s 26th-minute strike gave Fulham an early lead before Man City could see the back of the net.
Rodrigo Muniz’s late consolation goal gave Fulham an unpromised comeback hope but unfortunately, their efforts fell short, leaving them behind.
Immediately after the final whistle, Pep Guardiola was seen engaging in a serious coaching section with Fulham’s Adama Traore, offering what appeared to be words of encouragement and coaching.
Former Premier League striker Robert Earnshaw shared a picture of the scene, praising Guardiola’s passion for the game: “Pep Guardiola loves football so much that after Traore kept missing chances, he went over at full time to coach the opponent player.”
Traore had missed many attempt to equalize the score at 2-1, but his finishing skill wasn’t enough . Guardiola’s gesture highlighted his admiration for Traore’s talent, developed during his time at Barcelona’s La Masia academy, where Guardiola once managed.
