Nollywood star Funke Akindele has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Nigerian music icon Dbanj for his unwavering support in the production of everybody loves Jenifa .
During the premiere of her highly anticipated movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa, held on Sunday night, the actress revealed how Dbanj, famously known as “Bangalee,” prioritized her project over his own commitments.
“A big thank you to Bangalee; he was supposed to travel for a project. I begged and begged and begged,” Funke shared during her speech. “He told his guys to cut the project, and he would do this for me, and he did it at no cost.”
Akindele’s acknowledgment highlighted the depth of Dbanj’s generosity and dedication to supporting her vision, further cementing their bond as creative collaborators. Everybody Loves Jenifa continues the legacy of Akindele’s beloved Jenifa series, which has become a cultural phenomenon in Nollywood.
