The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has revealed that it apprehended four people for hacking bank in Abuja.
Dele Oyewale, spokesperson of the agency confirmed this in a statement on Tuesday. He said the suspects were apprehended for unauthorized access to banks’ computer systems, fraudulent withdrawal of depositors’ funds and alleged conspiracy.
The suspects are identified as Chima Anthony Nwigwe, alleged leader of banks’ hacking syndicate, Mohammed Bello Mahmud, Effiong Victor Emmanuel, The managing director, Downstone Ultimate Limited, Daminan Ali.
He disclosed that the suspects have been allegedly hacked and compromised databases of several banks, initiating fraudulent transactions through different means.
Oyewale also revealed that the suspects would be charged to court immediately the investigation is concluded.
