Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has issued a cautionary message about the repercussions of toying with people’s emotions, in response to a recent incident involving an ex-girlfriend allegedly poisoning her former boyfriend and his friends.
On November 5, 2024, Agu took to Instagram to share his thoughts and warn about the potential dangers of broken relationships.
In his video, the actor addressed the incident, although he admitted the details were still unconfirmed. “By now most of us must have seen the story of the pepper soup girl who poisoned her ex-boyfriend and his friends. I don’t know how true the story is, but we need to learn one important thing here. In this life, it’s not everyone you hurt that would let you go scot-free,” he said.
Agu advised young people to handle relationships with seriousness and care, highlighting the risks of playing with people’s feelings. “If you’re not ready for a relationship or something serious, don’t,” he warned, stressing that some people may never forgive or forget emotional pain.
The actor’s words also reflected on the need for wisdom and caution. “I’m not saying she did the right thing, but if you look at it from another angle, dead men tell no tales,” he remarked, adding that people should be wary of those they have hurt. He explained, “You, as a boy, broke up with her and you still allowed her to prepare a meal for you. Maybe he thought it was a normal breakup, but to her, a lot was damaged. Even his friends are victims of circumstance. May his soul rest in peace.”
Agu concluded his message with a warning to both men and women about taking relationships lightly. “One day monkey go go market and never return. Let’s be conscious. To the girl, I leave you to your gate. You have taken a soul that you cannot replace,” he stated solemnly, praying for the protection of loved ones from unforeseen tragedies.
