Buhari commiserates with Maiduguri flood victims

Muhammedu Buhari, the former president of Nigeria, has sent his condolences to the people of Borno over the flooding disaster that took place in the state. He described the sad incident as a ‘national calamity.’

The flood has displaced many people in Fori, Galtimari, Gwange, and Bulabulin areas of Maiduguri.

On Tuesday, the former president made a statement through his spokesperson, Garba Shehu to commiserate with the victims of the disaster.

The statement read, “Former President Muhammadu Buhari sends commiserations to the government and people of Borno and other affected states, following severe floods caused by incessant downpours.

“Describing it as a national calamity, the former president said he had heard of the widespread devastation of homes and farmland and the loss of life in Borno and several other states of the federation.

“My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this natural disaster.”
