Reality TV star Mercy Eke, best known for her stint on Big Brother Naija, recently opened up about her experience with body enhancement surgeries, declaring that despite the pain and challenges, the results were worth it.
During a recent episode of the Love Is A Game podcast, Eke disclosed that she underwent a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), liposuction, and lip augmentation in 2018. Her decision was heavily influenced by societal trends and the pressure to conform.“At first, I followed the trend by undergoing body enhancement surgery,” Eke shared.
Reflecting on her motivation, she revealed that it wasn’t dissatisfaction with her natural body that drove her decision but rather a desire to keep up with the times.“I did my body enhancement surgery in 2018. It was just the trend and peer pressure that made me do it. Because I actually had a very good body shape. I was slim with curves in the right places as an African woman. But maybe, my stomach was a little bit too much then,” she explained.
Eke also recounted the fears and emotional struggles she faced before and after the surgeries. She described the experience as both painful and emotionally draining.“I was scared when I wanted to undergo the surgery. I didn’t tell my mum. I went with two of my friends. It was painful. You won’t sleep with your butt for fourteen days. You have to be lying on your stomach. That’s the painful part. After the surgery, you will cry for three days. But it is worth it,” she said.
Despite the hurdles, Eke affirmed that she has no regrets, as the outcome met her expectations. She also took the opportunity to debunk rumours about having facial surgery, asserting that she has not altered her facial features and takes pride in her natural beauty.
