Popular comedian and filmmaker Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has voiced his frustration over the lack of support he receives from fellow men despite his efforts to remain relevant in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) handle, AY expressed concern over what he perceives as a bias, suggesting that men are more inclined to support women in the industry.

He wrote:
“One day men go tell man ‘wetin man do man.’ We work so hard to stay relevant and take care of our responsibilities. Must we get breasts and yansh to have the support of our fellow men? I am still the only man left in the business of filmmaking who is yet to give it all up.”

The filmmaker’s comments have sparked discussions on social media, with fans and industry insiders weighing in on the challenges of navigating the competitive world of filmmaking. Despite the perceived lack of support, AY continues to make his mark in the industry.
