The death of the Traditional Head (Alangua) of Ubandawaki, Pakata, Ilorin, Alhaji Mahmud Abdulgafar Baba Pakata, has been confirmed.
The Alangua gave up the ghost last night after an eventful reign of more than a decade over the good people of Ubandawaki Ward in the Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.
It was in December last year that the late traditional ruler who was a civil servant and politician prior to mounting the throne of his illustrious forebears, celebrated his 85th birthday.
Alhaji Mahmud,who was popularly known as Alhaji Baba Pakata, was survived by three wives and highly successful children.
He will be buried according to Islamic rites.
