Renowned Nigerian actor and movie producer, Chris Bassey, has made an unexpected career shift, leaving the world of entertainment to pursue plumbing in Canada.
Bassey made the surprising announcement during a live Instagram chat with popular media personality, Daddy Freeze, where he opened up about his new life abroad and the motivations behind his decision.
Reflecting on his career change, Bassey revealed that plumbing has offered him better financial stability and a more relaxed lifestyle compared to working in tech. When asked by Daddy Freeze about his new path, Bassey simply stated, “I’m into construction here.”
Daddy Freeze, visibly shocked by the revelation, questioned why a star of Bassey’s caliber would leave acting and producing behind. In response, Bassey, speaking in Nigerian Pidgin, explained, “In the last seven months, the province I have visited just on weekends in Canada, even person wey dey do tech no fit afford am. For here, I don’t know about the UK or US.”
