Qs. Theophilus Ayodele Apere, a seasoned construction and infrastructure professional, has officially declared his intention to represent Ifelodun/Oyun/Offa Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives in 2027.

Apere made the declaration at Monarchs Luxury Palace Hotel in Ganmon, Ifelodun, where he unveiled “The Ayo Apere Pact (2027–2031),” a comprehensive development blueprint designed to transform the constituency.

At the ceremony, which drew party stakeholders, community leaders, and supporters, Apere made a passionate case for quality leadership.

“We must select leaders based on three things: competence, capacity, and character. These are what matter,” he said.

Apere’s development plan focuses on six key areas. Education comes first. He pledges to reduce out-of-school children by 50 percent, renovate 30 public schools, supply 10,000 desks and learning materials, and establish vocational and ICT centres in Offa, Share, and Ilemona to equip youth with employment skills.

In healthcare, Apere targets upgrading 30 primary health centres, ensuring 24-hour medical services in key facilities, and enrolling 20,000 residents in health insurance schemes. He will provide free maternal and child health services. “Healthcare should not be a luxury. It should be a right,” Apere stated.

Infrastructure development ranks high on his agenda. He pledges to rehabilitate 50 kilometres of rural roads, bring electricity to 30 communities through solar power, and provide clean water to 50 communities. “Our people deserve basic infrastructure. We will deliver it,” he declared.

On security, Apere outlined plans to establish community security networks in all wards and strengthen collaboration with security agencies. He emphasized youth engagement programmes to reduce crime. “A safe community is a productive community,” he noted.

Agriculture will receive strategic support. Apere committed to supporting 5,000 farmers annually with seeds, fertilizers, and machinery. He will establish processing centres to help farmers add value to produce and increase income by 40 percent.

For youth and women empowerment, Apere pledged to train 5,000 individuals in vocational skills, support 2,000 small businesses with grants and soft loans, and create 2,000 new jobs.

Beyond the programmes, Apere promised transparency and accountability. He committed to quarterly town hall meetings to update constituents, equitable project distribution across all wards, and open reporting on all activities.

“You will know what I am doing and how I am spending resources. That is my promise,” he stated.

Earlier, Community leaders at the declaration ceremony expressed strong support for Apere’s candidacy.

Hon. Rauf Bello Labelabe praised Apere’s community impact. “Apere has been a success story in his hometown of Share and neighbouring communities. He has been available to the needs of our people without holding any political office. He is the best alternative to rescue our people. He is the best candidate to lead Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency,” Labelabe stated.

Chief M.T. Lawal stressed the importance of zoning and Apere’s qualification. “It’s the turn of Ifelodun local government to represent Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun federal constituency at the national assembly. We are not second-class citizens. Hon. Apere is an established institution even at the national level. He deserves our support,” Chief Lawal said.

On party unity, Labelabe made an appeal to other aspirants. “I am appealing to other aspirants from Ifelodun local government to work as a team. There is no need for putting many hands up at the primaries. Hon. Apere has proven to be our best shot to represent Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency,” he said.

Beyond professional credentials, Apere is known in his community as a quiet philanthropist. He has sponsored countless children through school, supported community infrastructure projects, promoted youth sports, and extended healthcare assistance.

As Founder and Chairman of the Apere Family Foundation, he has created a platform for education support, youth empowerment, and economic opportunity.
