Olatunde Micheals kicks off Kwara South senate consultations

In the build-up to the 2027 senatorial election in Kwara South Senatorial District, Oyeyiola Olatunde Micheals, popularly known as OOLAT, has commenced a party consultation tour across the seven local government areas of the district to formally declare his intention to contest for the Senate.

This was disclosed in a statement made available to journalists in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, on Wednesday, 21st, 2026.

The former Kwara Television Manager explained that his decision to seek a seat in the Senate is driven by the desire to effectively represent and advance the interests of the people of Kwara South and Kwara State at large at the national level.

OOLAT expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded him and his team during the initial phase of the tour.

“My team and I sincerely appreciate the warm reception, cooperation, and endorsements from my Irepodun community in Omu-Aran and Oyun Local Government in Erin-Ile,” the statement read in part.

He also expressed optimism about the ongoing consultations, noting that the tour would continue across other local governments in the district.

“The tour continues, and by God’s grace, this journey which started in the interest of our people will come to fruition,” he added.
