We don’t have plan for Mega empowerment in December – Saliu Mustapha

December 2nd, 2024

The Constituency Office of Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, wishes to debunk misleading information circulating about a purported “mega empowerment programme” allegedly planned for December 2024.

This much was obtained from a statement signed by the Media Assistant to the senator, Nasif Sholagberu on Monday.

We categorically state that no such event has been scheduled for this December. Instead, what is planned for mid-December is a significant milestone in Senator Mustapha’s commitment to education and human capital development: the award of full scholarships to 200 fresh undergraduates from various tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

It is therefore disheartening to see individuals with clear political motives and their sponsors spreading fake news to create unnecessary friction and artificial political tension.

We reiterate that the collaborative efforts between the Kwara State Government, under the able leadership of His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq, and federal lawmakers from Kwara State, including Senator Mustapha, are a cornerstones of progress and development for the state.

We call on all well-meaning Kwarans to join hands in fostering unity and progress rather than allowing divisive rhetoric to distract us from our shared goals. Purveyors of fake news are hereby advised to desist forthwith, as their actions only serve to undermine the collective interest of our people.
