N70,000 has been approved as the new minimum wage for the state’s civil servants by Nasir Idris, the governor of Kebbi state.
This was confirmed by Murtala Usman, chair of the Nigerian Labour Congress in Kebbi.
“Mr governor has shown that he is with the workers in the state. We proposed three tables for him.
“We proposed N72,000, N73,000, and N75,000, and he decided to go for N75,000, which shows he is for the workers.
“He also said the payment starts this month of October, with salaries categorically set to be made available to workers in the next 72 hours,” Usman said.
Recall that on Monday, the Kwara state governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, also approved the immediate implementation of N70,000 minimum wage for state workers
