Hakeem Lawal at 50: Awliya Foundation empowers petty traders with business stimulation grant

On the 21st of October, 2024, the Chairman of Awliya Foundation, Alh. Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal, celebrated his 50th birth anniversary in grand style. The event featured a special prayer and a business stimulation grant for petty traders.

In an exclusive video obtained by our medium, one of the beneficiaries of 50,000 Naira grant, Mrs. Hajarat Ajoke Bello, acknowledged the receipt of the grant and prayed for more good years for the celebrant.

Another beneficiary who also received 50,000 Naira, Mrs. Saadu Bilikisu, said the grant was to aid their petty trade and prayed for Hakeem Lawal. Mrs. Ibrahim Halimat who also received 20,000 Naira acknowledged it.

Dr. Ridwan Apaokagi, a Social Democratic Party (SDP) chieftain, in his keynote address, praised Hakeem Lawal’s dedication to empowering local communities and promoting economic growth. He noted that the initiative reflects Lawal’s commitment to uplifting the community and urged beneficiaries to use the funds wisely for sustainable growth.

The event was attended by four traditional rulers, the Magaji Aare of Ilorin, the Baba Isale of Ilorin, the Magaji Isokun of Ilorin, and the Magaji Alase of Ilorin. The prayer was led by Mukaddam Alase who is also the Naibul Imam of Admiralty Villa Masjid.

Political associates of Alh. Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal who attended includes Dr. Ridwan Apaokagi, the Kwara Central SDP Senatorial Candidate, Alh. Abdulraheem Akore, the Kwara Central SDP Senatorial Chairman, Hajia Ramat Olaide, Kwara SDP Women Leader, Comrade Olasunkanmi, Kwara SDP Youth Leader, Barrister Oladimeji Mustapha, Kwara SDP Legal Adviser.

Other attendees includes Chief Babatunde Asanlu, Ilorin East SDP Chairman, Alh. Monsuru, Ilorin South SDP Chairman, Prince Nurudeen Adesoye, Oyun LG KWHA Candidate, Comrade Jamiu, Kwara SDP Assistant Youth Leader, among others.

The event witnessed the cutting of cake, musical and dance interlude, and the presentation of gifts.
