Play With Kwara Youths (PWKY), an initiative dedicated to fostering unity among the youth of Kwara State, has received a thrilling and record-breaking 415 participants to its fourth edition within a period of three days. This turnout showcases the initiative’s growing popularity and impact.
This year’s event has seen a significant increase in participation compared to the previous edition, which hosted 251 participants. Notably, out of the 415 applicants, 383 representing 92.8% are male while 32 applicants representing 7.7% are female. Participants Game of Interest remain largely Football with 80.5% (334 participants), followed by Ludo at 11.1% (46) and Table Tennis at 8.4% (35).
Inferring from the geographical spread, participants were received from 15 local government areas out of the 16 established LGAs in Kwara State with Ilorin West having 182 (43.9%), Moro 9 (2.2%), Edu 11 (2.7%), Patigi 2 (0.5%), Baruten 6 (1.4%), Ekiti 7 (1.7%) and Oke-Ero: 4 (1%).
Others are Oyun 3 (0.7), Isin 5 (1.2%), Offa 10 (2.4%), Irepodun 9 (2.2%), Ifelodun 23 (5.5%), Asa 23 (5.5%), Ilorin South 45 (10.8%) and
Ilorin East 76 (18.3%).
This diverse turnout truly embodies our vision of unity and inclusivity among Kwaran youth.
As we proceed to the next phase of the participation process, we want to inform our teeming applicants to be aware of the following:
1. Jersey Payment: The cost for a jersey is N6,500, payable from October 16th to 20th, 2024.
2. Payment Instructions: Only those registered for Table Tennis, Ludo, or interested in purchasing a jersey should make payments.
3. Football Participants: Those registered for football should only pay if they receive an email from PWKY.
