Popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has shared a heartfelt message revealing that he is struggling with suicidal thoughts due to the ongoing bribery allegations involving officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The controversy began when social media activist Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, released a video earlier in the week, claiming that Bobrisky had paid ₦15 million to EFCC officials to drop money laundering charges against him. This prompted the EFCC to invite both Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan for questioning, with EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede ordering an immediate investigation into the bribery claims.
On Wednesday, Bobrisky took to social media to describe the viral audio recording as “fake,” maintaining that no such payment was made and insisting that he had served his prison term.
The saga took another turn when popular rapper Falz appeared to partially corroborate VeryDarkMan’s claims. In a warning letter to the activist, Falz acknowledged that Bobrisky had called him asking for financial help, specifically requesting ₦3 million to secure a VIP section in prison, a request which Falz declined.
On Thursday, Bobrisky shared an emotional post on his Instagram story, disclosing the mental and emotional toll the scandal has taken on him. He admitted that suicidal thoughts had begun to cross his mind, though he emphasized that he does not seek sympathy but instead longs for understanding and support.
“I have never in my life thought about suicide, but now it’s coming to my head, seeing what human beings are doing to their fellow humans just because you want to bring them down by force or because you don’t like them,” Bobrisky wrote.
In a poignant conclusion, Bobrisky stated, “I don’t need sympathy from anyone. The people I might have needed sympathy from are my late parents. But who will fight for you? Friends? HATERS YOU WON.”
The post has drawn widespread attention, shedding light on the emotional weight Bobrisky is carrying as the bribery saga unfolds.
