In an appearance on the popular talk show Creativity Live with Lynda, actress Nancy Isime shared her unique perspective on marriage, highlighting her unwavering focus on career growth and financial independence.

While many of her peers may have seen marriage as a pathway to financial security, Isime revealed that her ambitions have always centered around personal success.”I’ve always envisioned myself working,” she said.

“When other young girls would daydream about getting married, I never did. My daydreams were about building my career, making my own money, and being independent.”

Addressing the concept of a dream wedding, Isime emphasized that, for her, the idea holds little significance. “I might not even have what people call a dream wedding because, honestly, what is a dream wedding? If I get married, it will just be a wedding that reflects how we feel in that moment. If it’s big, great, if it’s small, that’s fine too. The scale doesn’t matter to me.”

Isime attributed her current mindset to her upbringing, growing up in a financially humble environment where asking for more was not an option. “I was always that child who saw herself earning her own money one day. Coming from a background where there wasn’t much, I learned early on not to ask for what wasn’t available. But I remember thinking, ‘I can’t wait to have my own money and make my own decisions.'”

She further elaborated on how this outlook has shaped her life today, noting that self-sufficiency remains her top priority. “That’s why I’m a firm believer in spending on myself. I invest so much in my own happiness and lifestyle that no one can hold anything over me. No one can claim, ‘Without me, you wouldn’t have this life.'”

For Isime, the ultimate goal is clear, building a life on her own terms, financially empowered and unapologetically independent.
