Film One Studios, the acclaimed production company behind the hit movie “Adire,” is set to captivate audiences again with their latest film, “Farmer’s Bride.” This emotionally charged period drama will make its debut in cinemas nationwide on September 27, accompanied by the release of a teaser trailer, character posters, and a full trailer to build excitement.
Set in 1980s Ibadan, “Farmer’s Bride” tells the story of Odun, a wealthy but solitary farmer who marries a young woman named Funmi in search of companionship. However, their marriage quickly becomes troubled as Funmi struggles to adapt to her new life and falls into a forbidden romance with Odun’s nephew. The fallout from their actions unfolds into a compelling narrative of love and betrayal.
The film features well known cast, including Tobi Bakre (“Gangs of Lagos”), Gbubemi Ejeye (“Far From Home”), Femi Branch (“House of Gaa”), Mercy Aigbe (“Ada Omo Mummy”), Efe Irele (“L.I.F.E”), and Wumi Toriola (“Aburo”), all of whom bring depth and authenticity to their roles. Directed by Adebayo Tijani and Jack’enneth Opukeme, “Farmer’s Bride” promises to be a powerful addition to the Nigerian cinema landscape.
