CAF Champions League: Fidelis Ilechukwu confident Rangers will stun US Zilimadjou

By Yusuf Mutiu-Olaitan

Rangers International head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu has revealed his side will win both legs of the CAF Champions League tie against Comoros side, US Zilimadjou.

The current NPFL champions triumphed one nil in their first leg encounter on Sunday thanks to a fine Frank Uwumiro header in the first half.

The former Plateau United coach, Ilechukwu, revealed that the team had every opportunity to score more than a goal in the first half owing to numerous chances they created.

“It was a game we had control over in the first stanza and could have scored more goals that would have killed any fight back from our opponent.

“We lowered our guard in the second stanza and they came out to attack but we stood out to see off the encounter,” he told reporters after the game.

“We will go back to the drawing board to prepare very well for the return leg and we are positive going forward.
